How Long Does a Custom Mosaic Take? From Mockup to Installation
From the day you order, a custom mosaic takes around 10–12 weeks to arrive with free standard shipping, or 4–5 weeks with expedited shipping. Your free mockup comes much sooner: usually within 24–48 hours. Here is what happens at each step, and how to keep your project on schedule.
The timeline at a glance
| Step | Typical time |
|---|---|
| 1. Free mockup | 24–48 hours after you send your details |
| 2. Revisions | As many as you need (usually a few days) |
| 3. Order and payment | When you're happy with the design |
| 4. Production | About 5–6 weeks (2–3 weeks expedited) |
| 5. Approval photos | We send photos; the timing depends on your reply |
| 6. Mounting and drying | A few days after you approve |
| 7. Shipping | The rest of the 10–12 weeks (or 4–5 weeks expedited) |
| 8. Installation | Usually a day, plus curing time |
1. Free mockup (24–48 hours)
Send us your logo or wording, the size of the space and any style ideas through our mockup form. A designer turns it into a realistic mockup, usually within 24–48 hours, with no payment needed.

2. Revisions
Change the font, colors, border or size as many times as you like. Most customers settle on a design within a few rounds.
3. Order
Once you approve the design, you pay in full or pay a 50% deposit (with the balance before shipping), and your mosaic goes into production.
4. Production
Our craftspeople cut and lay your tiles and, if your design has metal lettering, cut and fit the stainless steel. Hand-cut work is done piece by piece, which is why custom mosaics take weeks rather than days. Production takes about 5–6 weeks, or 2–3 weeks on the expedited option.
5. Approval photos
Before anything ships, we send you photos of your finished mosaic to approve. This is your chance to check every detail.
6. Mounting and drying (a few days)
After you approve, the tiles are attached to the mesh sheets and left to dry so they travel safely. That is why your mosaic doesn't ship the same day you approve it.
7. Shipping
Standard shipping is free worldwide. You'll get tracking once it ships. Any import duties or taxes in your country are paid on delivery or online with the carrier.
8. Installation
Your mosaic arrives on numbered sheets with a layout guide. A tile installer can usually lay a 4 × 3 ft entrance in a few hours, then grout it once the adhesive has cured. See the installation guide.
Need it sooner?
- Expedited (4–5 weeks): +$420 for a 4 × 3 ft, more for larger sizes because of the weight.

How to avoid delays
- Send clear measurements and your best logo file at the start.
